About me

I’m incredibly passionate about the work I do and the career I have forged for myself over the last 12 years. I’ve been based in the UAE for over four years now and am currently working as Head of Corporate Communications for a large government company.

My career has seen me lead a global rebrand for a multinational company, co-lead digital strategies, project managed new intranets, introduced successful social media campaigns to corporate companies, led employee engagement campaigns, set up the corporate identity of start up companies and managed in-house marketing teams as well as project stakeholders. Oh, and in 2010 I also won the UAE Emirate’s Woman Ambition Award.

Why do you need to know all that? Well you don’t – and the above paragraph certainly isn’t about me showing off. What is does highlight though is my ambition and commitment in my working life. My working life, which has recently changed…

August 2012 saw me become a mum to a beautiful baby boy.

I don’t want to lose sight of, or forget the things I have achieved over the years. Do I have to? Can I have it all?

I believe (and hope) that you can.  This blog will describe the trials and tribulations of being a working mum, and hopefully offer some guidance and advice along the way.

I’m not suggesting I’m going to be an expert at juggling my two lives by any stretch of the means, but am hoping that by documenting my successes and (predictably many) failures, we can all learn something!

So there you go. That’s my story. Wish me luck!
